Your Guide to Tournament Day
Reelin’ for a Reason is designed to be a high-energy, rewarding experience for every woman on the water. From the early morning launch to the final weigh-in, here is everything you need to know to navigate our inaugural event.
The Schedule of Events
The Mandatory Captain’s Meeting
Friday, July 17th at 6:00 PM at the Lorain Harbor Boat Club, 108 Alabama Ave. One representative from each boat must attend to review official safety protocols, tournament rules, and pick up team materials.

Tournament Day
Saturday, July 18th

6:00 AM: Lines in! Fishing begins.

12:00 PM: Lines out. All fishing must cease.

1:00 PM: Deadline to be in the weigh-in line at the Lorain Harbor Boat Club.

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Luncheon, raffles, and awards ceremony.

The Rules of the Deck
Team Composition
-
Anglers: Each team must consist of 1 to 4 women.

The Crew: A maximum of 2 men are permitted per boat to serve as Captain and First Mate.
Roles and Responsibilities

We believe in teamwork, but the glory belongs to the ladies.

What Men MAY Do: Navigate the vessel, rig equipment, set lines, and unhook the fish once they are landed.

What Men MAY NOT Do: Men are not permitted to reel in or net any fish. To qualify for the weigh-in, every fish must be reeled in and netted by the women on the team.

Launch & Harbor Locations
Participants are welcome to launch from any location within Lorain Harbor. If you are traveling from outside the area or looking for a new spot to drop in, we recommend the following popular launch sites:

Weigh-In & Awards
The excitement culminates at 1:00 PM at the Lorain Harbor Boat Club.

The Catch: Each team will present their five (5) largest Walleye by weight.

Requirements: All fish must meet State of Ohio DNR regulations (minimum 15 inches).

The Tie-Breaker: In the event of a total weight tie, the winner will be determined by the weight of the team's largest single fish.

Prizes

Trophies: Commemorative awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place overall weight.

Big Fish Cash Prize: A $1,000 payout for the heaviest single Walleye of the tournament.

Inclement Weather Policy
The safety of our participants is our priority. A minimum of four hours of fishing time is required to complete the tournament. If fishing cannot begin by 8:00 AM due to weather, the tournament will be canceled; however, the After-Party and Luncheon will proceed as scheduled at 1:00 PM. Please note that all entry fees are donated to our beneficiaries, and no refunds will be issued.
